LG Reported to Offer US$100 3G Mobile Phones for GSMA

According to a Reuters report, LG has won a contract from GSMA's (Global System for Mobile Communication Association) to produce low-cost 3G mobile phones, with price tags of US$100. As part of GSMA's 3G For All program, this contract will help LG gain several million orders from other GSMA members. The low-cost prototype phone, to be debuted at the 3GSM mobile phone conference in Barcelona next week, is designed to significantly increase penetration rate of 3G mobile phones.
